The LZ 129 Hindenburg caught on fire and was destroyed in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6th, 1937 while attempting to dock with its mooring mast at the Lakehurst Navel Air Station. While the cause of the fire may be unknown, it remains a an incredible icon in New Jersey history.
